Qarmet and Allur have proposed launching the “Болашаққа жол” programme for young Kazakhstanis. In the first phase, the companies plan to set aside places for up to 500 people from across the country. The initiative, timed to coincide with Republic Day, would offer employment, training and support at the start of their careers (inbusiness.kz).
What happened
The companies put forward a joint initiative spanning two industries: steelmaking and car manufacturing. The programme would reserve places for young professionals at Qarmet and Allur facilities. Through it, the companies aim to expand employment and career development opportunities for young people.
They plan to give particular attention to university and college graduates, talented young people from rural areas and young people from vulnerable families. The programme is aimed at participants from across Kazakhstan. Its goal is to help young people start their careers and train specialists with skills needed by domestic industry.
What this means for participants
Under the proposal, participants would be able to find work in industrial occupations where skills are in demand. The fields named include metallurgy, car manufacturing, mechanical engineering and engineering. Work in automation and digital technology is also envisaged.
Support would span several stages, from selection and training to mentoring and further career development. The companies also plan to help young professionals adjust to their new social environment. These measures form part of the proposed framework for participants’ professional development.
How they plan to help with relocation
A separate strand of the programme would support young professionals from the regions who need to move for work. They would receive help with relocation, accommodation and settling into their new workplace. This support is intended for participants who may need it.
Relocation assistance would complement the programme’s other measures: training, mentoring and support for career development. All these opportunities are currently described as part of the initiative proposed by Qarmet and Allur.
How they want to develop the programme
The first phase is designed for up to 500 participants. The companies see “Болашаққа жол” as a long-term framework for cooperation between businesses, educational institutions and young people. The programme is intended to help train workers for Kazakhstan’s industry.
Other major employers in Kazakhstan could join the initiative in the future. For now, Qarmet and Allur have put forward the proposal to coincide with Republic Day.
