Kazakhstani retail tech company Beksar (developer of the widely used trade automation and inventory ecosystem ShopUchet), founded by Maksat Bektibayev (CEO), Bauyrzhan Sarsembayev (COO), and Aydyn Temekov, has demonstrated rapid regional scaling across Central Asia. The startup closed an investment round of $305,000 at a business valuation of $4.8 million. Lead investors in the round included prominent Kazakhstani IT angel investor Murat Abdrakhmanov, venture fund MOST Ventures, and business angel Yeldar Tolesh.
Retail Trade Automation Straight from a Smartphone
Having previously founded and operated physical retail chains themselves, Beksar’s founders engineered a mobile-first software platform that resolves the operational headaches of small and medium retailers without requiring expensive local servers or specialized 1C programmers:
- Cloud Inventory and Stock Control: Real-time SKU tracking, barcode-enabled inventory audits via smartphone camera, and automated variance reconciliations;
- Smart POS Checkout Terminals: Integration with cloud fiscal cash registers, automated receipt compliance, QR-code payments, and multi-bank card terminals;
- Profitability and Assortment Analytics: Dynamic gross margin calculations, illiquid dead-stock detection, and automated replenishment orders dispatched to suppliers;
- Embedded Merchant Lending: Banking integrations enable retailers to access invoice factoring and working capital microloans directly inside the software interface.
Regional Central Asian Scale and Growth Metrics
The Beksar software ecosystem currently automates operations across more than 4,000 retail storefronts across Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR) has surpassed $70,000 (representing approximately $850,000 in Annual Recurring Revenue / ARR). The fresh funding is dedicated to accelerating merchant acquisition in Tashkent’s burgeoning retail market and rolling out embedded fintech factoring services for wholesale FMCG distributors.
