Modern technologies for rehabilitating people with disabilities were presented at a national research and practice conference in Almaty. They included a remote support project for children with hearing impairments that is already operating in five regions of Kazakhstan. The Ministry of Labour’s enbekgovkz channel reported the news, sharing a report by television channel Qazaqstan.tv (t.me).
What technologies were discussed in Almaty
The conference brought together specialists from Kazakhstan and abroad. Participants discussed innovative solutions to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities, as well as approaches to rehabilitation for children.
The technologies presented included bionic prostheses and 3D technologies, which involve working with three-dimensional objects. These were on the agenda alongside new methods of rehabilitation for children.
The discussion thus covered several areas within the same field: prosthetics, the use of three-dimensional technologies and rehabilitation support for children. The solutions presented share a common goal: improving the quality of life of people with disabilities.
What support children in remote regions receive
The conference paid particular attention to children with hearing impairments who live in remote regions of the country. An online rehabilitation support project is available to them.
In this case, remote technology serves a specific purpose: providing rehabilitation support to children with hearing impairments. The project was one of the examples of modern technology in use presented to conference participants.
It currently covers five regions of Kazakhstan. The project is already up and running: conference discussions addressed both the support provided to children and its expansion to more regions.
What is planned next
The next announced step is to expand the online project’s reach by the end of the year. For now, this remains a plan to further develop support for children in remote regions.
Online rehabilitation was a distinct part of the broader conference agenda in Almaty. Specialists also examined prosthetics, three-dimensional technologies and new methods of supporting children. Television channel Qazaqstan.tv provided more details about the solutions presented in a report shared by the Ministry of Labour’s channel.
