Terms of Use

This Terms of Use Agreement (hereinafter referred to as the “Agreement”) governs the relationship between the owner of the raem.kz website (hereinafter referred to as “We” or the “Editorial Board”) and users of the website (hereinafter referred to as the “User” or “You”) when using the raem.kz website (hereinafter referred to as the “Website”).

By starting to use the Website, you accept the terms of this Agreement in full. If you do not agree with any of the terms, please refrain from using the Website.

1. General Provisions

1.1. The raem.kz Website is an online media outlet publishing news, analytics, interviews, and opinion pieces on the IT industry, startups, technology, and business, primarily related to Kazakhstan.

1.2. The Website Administration reserves the right to modify, supplement, or delete the terms of this Agreement without prior notice to Users. The current version is always available on this page.

2. Definitions

  • Website — the internet resource located at raem.kz, including all of its pages, sections, and subdomains.
  • Content — any materials posted on the Website: article texts, images, videos, infographics, comments, and other objects.
  • User — any natural or legal person visiting and using the Website.

3. Rights and Obligations of the Parties

3.1. Rights of the User

The User has the right to:

  • freely access the materials of the Website to the extent provided by the Editorial Board;
  • submit news tips and material proposals through the corresponding form on the Website;
  • contact the Editorial Board using the contact details specified on the Website.

3.2. Obligations of the User

The User undertakes to:

  • not use the Website for unlawful purposes;
  • not disrupt the normal operation of the Website (including hacking attempts, distribution of malware, or unauthorized automated data collection);
  • not submit via feedback forms any materials that violate the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan or the rights of third parties, or that contain insults, defamation, or false information;
  • provide accurate information when filling out forms on the Website.

3.3. Rights and Obligations of the Editorial Board

The Editorial Board has the right to:

  • at its sole discretion publish, reject, or edit materials submitted via the “Submit News” form;
  • change the structure, design, and content of the Website without prior notice;
  • restrict the User’s access to the Website in the event of a breach of the terms of this Agreement.

The Editorial Board undertakes to:

  • ensure fair and accurate news coverage in accordance with professional journalistic standards;
  • review user inquiries submitted through the Website within a reasonable timeframe.

4. Intellectual Property

4.1. All materials posted on the Website (texts, images, logos, design) are the intellectual property of the Editorial Board or are used on lawful grounds (under license, with the permission of the copyright holder, or by way of citation).

4.2. Copying, distribution, and other use of Website materials without the written consent of the Editorial Board is prohibited, except in cases directly permitted by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan (for example, citation with attribution to the source to the extent justified by the purpose of citation).

4.3. When citing Website materials in other media or on other resources, a hyperlink to the original source—raem.kz—is mandatory.

5. Limitation of Liability

5.1. The Editorial Board makes reasonable efforts to ensure the accuracy of published information, but does not guarantee the complete absence of errors or inaccuracies in the materials.

5.2. The Editorial Board shall not be liable for:

  • decisions made by the User based on the materials of the Website;
  • temporary unavailability of the Website due to technical reasons;
  • the content of third-party websites to which links from the Website may lead.

5.3. Opinions expressed in author columns and materials in the “Perspectives” (“Opinion”) section represent the personal views of the authors and may not coincide with the position of the Editorial Board.

6. Advertising and Partner Materials

6.1. Certain materials on the Website may be placed on a commercial basis (advertising, partner publications). Such materials are marked with an appropriate label (“Advertising” or similar).

6.2. The Editorial Board is not responsible for the content and accuracy of information in advertising materials—liability rests with the advertiser.

7. Personal Data

The processing of Users’ personal data is carried out in accordance with the Privacy Policy, which is an integral part of this Agreement.

8. Dispute Resolution

8.1. The parties shall seek to resolve all disputes and disagreements arising in connection with the use of the Website through negotiations.

8.2. If a dispute cannot be resolved through negotiations, it shall be resolved in accordance with the procedure established by the applicable legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
