Kazakhstan has raised the monetary threshold for tax checks on mobile transfers: incoming payments must total more than 360 MCI. The criteria also include transfers from at least 100 different people each month for three consecutive calendar months (vlast.kz). The Ministry of Finance has changed the requirements for payments into personal bank accounts that are not intended for business use.

How many people must send money

The criteria specify at least 100 different senders each month for three consecutive calendar months. What matters is the number of people who sent money.

This means 100 senders already meets the criterion. The condition must be met in each of the three consecutive months.

When transfers may be checked

What transfer amount meets the criteria

The total amount of these incoming payments must exceed 360 MCI, or monthly calculation indices. In 2026, this is approximately 1.55 million tenge.

The wording “exceeds” means an amount above the threshold. An amount equal to 360 MCI does not meet this condition.

Which accounts the criteria apply to

The criteria apply to an individual’s personal bank accounts that are not intended for business use.

The criteria therefore combine several conditions: the account’s intended use, the number of senders, the regularity of payments and the total amount transferred.

What the previous monetary threshold was

The previous threshold was 12 minimum monthly wages. Using the 2026 rate, this is just over 1 million tenge.

The monetary criterion is now tied to 360 MCI. The threshold has risen from approximately 1 million to 1.55 million tenge.

In plain terms

If you receive mobile transfers, check your incoming payments against all the conditions listed above. Check the number of different senders in each of three consecutive months, the total amount and the account’s intended use.
