Nazarbayev University will host the Business Cup 2.0 student hackathon on November 14–15, with a prize pool of 5 million tenge. Participants will turn an idea into a working IT solution. Applications close on November 8 at 23:59 (t.me).
What happened
Business Cup 2.0 returns as a hackathon — a competition where teams build a solution within a set time. It is organised by AIESEC in NU and IT company Zimran.
Undergraduate and master’s students are invited to take part. They are encouraged to form teams with a mix of skills in research, analysis, design, development and product presentation.
Alongside working on their solutions, participants will have opportunities to connect with one another and the Zimran team. The venue will also offer coffee breaks, rest areas and interactive activities.
What this means for participants
The hackathon gives students a chance to take an idea through to a working product and gain practical development experience. Different skills will come into play at each stage, from researching the problem to preparing a presentation of the finished solution.
The opportunities advertised include employment at Zimran. This is a potential hiring opportunity; the announcement does not disclose the terms.
How to apply
To take part in the Business Cup 2.0 hackathon, register by November 8 at 23:59. Selection results will be announced after registration closes.
The competition itself will take place on November 14–15 at Nazarbayev University.
