Y Combinator Winter 2027: $500,000 Investment and Global Network — Application Details

Y Combinator Winter 2027: $500 000 за долю в стартапе, заявки до 2 ноября

Y Combinator has opened applications for its Winter 2027 batch. The world-renowned Silicon Valley accelerator invests $500,000 in every accepted company in exchange for equity. Because this is an institutional equity investment rather than a non-repayable grant, founders receive standard financing alongside world-class acceleration. Startups from any country in the world, including Kazakhstan, are fully eligible to apply.

Applications for the main batch are accepted until November 2, 2026, at 20:00 Pacific Standard Time (PST, UTC−8). For applicants in Kazakhstan, this corresponds to November 3, 2026, at 09:00 Astana time. Late applications are also reviewed, but submitting before the official deadline guarantees an evaluation by the admissions committee before the batch kickoff.

Standard Investment Deal Terms

Y Combinator operates on a standardized two-part investment structure totaling $500,000:

  • $125,000 on a post-money SAFE in exchange for a fixed 7% equity stake in the company.
  • $375,000 on an uncapped MFN (Most Favored Nation) SAFE. This portion contains no fixed valuation cap and automatically adopts the terms and valuation cap of the lowest-priced instrument issued by the company in its subsequent financing round.

Companies must be legally structured as a Delaware C-Corporation (or agree to “flip” their corporate structure into a Delaware C-Corp prior to funding disbursement).

Program Format and Location

The Winter 2027 batch runs from January through late March 2027, culminating in YC Demo Day, where founders pitch to hundreds of leading global venture investors, angels, and syndicate leaders.

  • In-Person Requirement: Participating founders must be physically based in San Francisco throughout the three-month duration of the batch. YC hosts weekly partner meetings, group office hours, and Tuesday dinners in SF.
  • Alumni Network: Founders gain lifetime access to Bookface, Y Combinator’s internal knowledge base and communications platform connecting more than 9,000 founders across companies like Airbnb, Stripe, Coinbase, Dropbox, and DoorDash.

Who Should Apply?

YC backs founders across all technology verticals: B2B SaaS, developer tooling, artificial intelligence and LLM agents, fintech, biotech, climate tech, hardware, and consumer platforms. Founders do not need to have product traction or registered legal entities at the time of application; YC regularly accepts teams that are merely at the prototype or idea stage, provided the founding team shows exceptional execution speed and deep technical competence.

Application Checklist for Kazakhstani Founders

  1. 1-minute Founder Video: Record an unedited, authentic 60-second video introducing the co-founders, explaining why you are building this specific product, and demonstrating technical synergy. Do not use background music, slick b-roll, or marketing voiceovers.
  2. Concise English Responses: Avoid corporate buzzwords and marketing fluff. State clearly what your product does, who uses it, how you plan to monetize, and what unique unfair advantage your team possesses.
  3. Traction & Metrics: Highlight verified retention numbers, waitlist signups, pilot agreements, or letters of intent (LOIs) if applicable.
  4. Demonstrable Prototype: If you have an active demo, share live test credentials and a working link directly in the form.

Central Asian founders have increasingly made inroads into Y Combinator over recent batches. Applying early provides the admissions partners more time to examine code repositories and schedule preliminary partner interviews.
