Kazakhstani MedTech leader DOQ.kz (scaling globally under the unified brand odoctor) has solidified its position as the premier digital booking infrastructure for medical clinics and physicians across Central Asia. Co-founded by Chief Executive Officer Aidar Aryngazin and Chief Technology Officer Madi Maskenov, the venture finalized a bridge funding round of $660,000 led by MOST Ventures, lifting its total venture capital raised to $2 million.
Eliminating Long Waitlists and Healthcare Opacity
The journey originated in 2017 with $40,000 in personal savings from the founder after Aidar Aryngazin experienced the exhausting friction of securing a verified specialized medical consultant in Almaty. Today, DOQ.kz addresses core operational bottlenecks across both sides of the healthcare ecosystem:
- For Patients: Algorithmic discovery across 80+ medical specializations, verified patient testimonials, transparent pricing matrices, and instantaneous online confirmation of clinic slots in under 30 seconds;
- For Healthcare Providers: Seamless two-way API integration with Hospital Information Systems (HIS), cutting patient no-show rates from 35% down to under 8% via automated reminders, and guaranteeing a consistent flow of private patients.
Cross-Border Scaling Under the odoctor Brand
Having established clear market dominance and sustainable cash-flow dynamics across Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, the startup secured a $500,000 seed round from Dubai-based venture capital firm Almak Capital. These funds fueled foreign localization and regulatory compliance:
- Across Central and Eastern Europe, the platform deployed in Hungary (operating as odoktor.hu) and Romania (prodoctor.ro);
- Across the MENA region, the engineering team launched commercial operations in the United Arab Emirates (odoctor.ae).
According to CEO Aidar Aryngazin, the venture is preparing for its next major institutional equity round to further penetrate high-growth emerging healthcare markets and roll out proprietary generative AI assistants for preliminary symptom triage.
