Global mobility and delivery platform inDrive has officially launched its new “No Bargaining” (Fixed Price) tariff across Kazakhstan. The new feature eliminates the need for passengers to propose a fare manually and wait for driver counteroffers: ride costs are now calculated automatically by proprietary algorithms before the booking request is dispatched.
Orders are placed with a single tap, moving directly to nearby driver matching without the customary negotiation step. Upfront pricing is generated using aggregated historical trip data and local market rates for matching routes within each specific municipality.
Predictability and Speed for Urban Commuters
The fixed-price tariff is engineered specifically for time-sensitive use cases where speed of arrival and fare predictability take precedence over price haggling. This includes morning commutes, airport transfers, and peak-hour transit.
“The peer-to-peer negotiable model remains the foundational pillar of inDrive: for millions of riders and drivers, it represents a proven mechanism to agree on a mutually fair price. However, user expectations have evolved: many commuters already know the fair rate for their daily commute, turning the bargaining stage into an unnecessary formality. For these scenarios, we introduced the ‘No Bargaining’ option, allowing passengers to simply accept the algorithmically generated fare upfront,” commented Arai Bekembayev, Country Manager of inDrive in Kazakhstan.
Nationwide Availability: 20 Cities
The upfront pricing feature is active immediately across 20 major hubs throughout Kazakhstan:
- Major Metropolises: Astana, Almaty, and Shymkent;
- Regional & Industrial Hubs: Aktobe, Aktau, Atyrau, Balkhash, Karaganda, Kokshetau, Kostanay, Kyzylorda, Pavlodar, Rudny, Semey, Taraz, Temirtau, Turkistan, Uralsk, Ust-Kamenogorsk, and Ekibastuz.
For drivers, the automated option offers enhanced revenue transparency: trip fares are locked prior to dispatch and remain unchanged throughout the ride, reducing downtime and eliminating price disputes.
Strategic Context and Market Footprint
The introduction of fixed-price ordering marks a strategic step in inDrive’s evolution into a comprehensive multi-service superapp, competing directly with incumbent ride-hailing aggregators. By layering automated upfront pricing onto its core peer-to-peer marketplace, the platform broadens its reach among urban commuters seeking instant execution.
To date, the inDrive mobile application has surpassed 400 million downloads globally, retaining its status as the world’s second most downloaded ride-hailing application for four consecutive years (behind Uber). Operating across more than 1,200 cities in 47 countries, the company complements its urban taxi services with intercity transit, freight logistics, courier delivery, and its corporate venture arm, New Ventures.
