Kazakhstani EdTech startup WeGlobal AI has secured second place in the regional finals of Road to TechCrunch Startup Battlefield 2026, earning selection into the prestigious global Startup Battlefield 200 cohort.
In October, the founding team will travel to San Francisco to showcase their AI-driven student mental health and career guidance platform at the flagship TechCrunch Disrupt conference. During his pitch, co-founder Bolat Ashim publicly revealed company financial telemetry for the first time: WeGlobal AI’s annual revenue expanded from $600,000 in 2024 to $2.5 million in 2025, with projected 2026 revenues approaching $5 million.
WeGlobal AI develops a digital ecosystem connecting school psychologists, career counselors, students, and parents. The platform is designed to help educational institutions detect early warning signs of emotional distress and depression in children while providing personalized, AI-guided vocational pathways.

Second Place Out of 726 Applications Across 39 Countries
The Road to Battlefield regional qualifying tournament was organized by Silkroad Innovation Hub in partnership with TechCrunch, Astana Hub, IT Park Uzbekistan, and regional ecosystem builders.
The 2026 competition attracted a record 726 startup applications from 39 countries across Central Asia, Eastern Europe, and MENA — a 50% year-on-year surge. Approximately 84% of participating startups showcased artificial intelligence as their core technological differentiator.
Following multi-stage evaluations, 20 finalists were invited to pitch live before an international jury of Silicon Valley venture capitalists. First place went to Cerberus, an automated smart door lock startup from Turkey. WeGlobal AI captured second place, while LOOQ, an AI-powered cinematic 3D mapping platform, rounded out the top three.

From Astana Hub to StartX and Silicon Valley
WeGlobal AI originally began testing in Kazakhstan as an institutional pilot across 71 schools. Today, the startup reports active penetration across thousands of regional schools, reaching an estimated 1.2 million pupils.
The startup graduated from the Silkway Accelerator, jointly run by Google for Startups and Astana Hub, and was subsequently admitted into StartX, the prestigious Stanford University-affiliated founder community. While WeGlobal AI reached the interview stage for Y Combinator, partners encouraged the team to first validate institutional sales and clinical efficacy pilots in the United States.
Prize Package: Equity Investment, OpenAI Compute, and Disrupt Booth
The top three winners of Road to Battlefield share an equity investment pool of $100,000 provided on standard institutional venture terms: $50,000 for winner Cerberus, $30,000 for WeGlobal AI, and $20,000 for LOOQ.
In addition, the winners share $100,000 in OpenAI API computational credits, with WeGlobal AI securing $30,000 in API compute. The startup also receives fully funded travel for two founders, an exhibition booth at TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco, and access to a global network of over 1,700 Startup Battlefield alumni.
The Critical Test in San Francisco
Gaining admission into Startup Battlefield 200 represents a remarkable achievement, but competing on the global stage in San Francisco introduces stringent challenges:
- Clinical and Screening Precision: Proving that the platform’s algorithmic screening accurately flags children genuinely requiring professional psychological intervention without generating excessive false positives;
- Data Privacy & Compliance: Navigating strict U.S. child data protection laws (such as COPPA and FERPA) when managing highly sensitive psychological assessments of minors;
- B2B2C Monetization: Determining whether upselling premium counseling analytics directly to parents can scale within the fragmented American school district ecosystem.
TechCrunch Disrupt will take place in San Francisco on October 13–15, 2026. For WeGlobal AI, the trip represents far more than an exhibition: it is an audition to prove that an EdTech platform forged in Kazakhstan can compete and scale in the most demanding venture market in the world.
