BI Group is piloting a quadruped robotic dog engineered to inspect active construction sites, patrol perimeters, and aggregate telemetry on build progress. The autonomous hardware was unveiled at AI & Digital Bridge 2026, reports Digital Business. The deployment currently remains at the proof-of-concept stage.
Capabilities of the Quadruped Robot
Stated functionalities include autonomous terrain navigation, workplace safety protocol violation detection, and automated variance identification against construction blueprints. For instance, onboard computer vision can identify workers operating without mandatory personal protective equipment.
An additional operational scenario involves computing volumetric earthwork excavations and fills via LiDAR scanning payloads. The original equipment manufacturer, specific robotics model, measurement tolerance margins, and field trial data were omitted from the publication.
Aerial Drones Have Audited Ten Sites
An adjunct tool utilized by BI Group involves surveying exterior building facades via autonomous UAV drones. Computer vision algorithms evaluate aerial footage to flag structural flaws, which are subsequently verified by quality engineers. Secondary flights confirm whether remediation items have been resolved.
According to reporting data, ten construction developments have undergone inspection via this aerial workflow.
Hard-Hat Mounted Cameras Generate Work Orders
Across its job sites, the real estate holding additionally deploys “Smart Helmet 360” gear: a mounted panoramic camera records video feeds during supervisor walkthroughs. The Provision software engine processes visual feeds, geolocates defects against architectural CAD layouts, and outputs deficiency punch lists.
These solutions occupy varied stages of adoption: helmet-mounted inspections are deployed in production, drones have demonstrated operational validation, while the robotic quadruped must still prove measurable ROI throughout ongoing field pilots.
