AI jobs and salaries in Kazakhstan in 2026: one Middle Data Scientist vacancy offers 1.5–2 million tenge a month before tax. Top-Human advertised that range for a candidate with 3–6 years of experience (astana.hh.kz). This is one employer’s offer, rather than the average salary for artificial intelligence specialists. Training options include a master’s programme at Nazarbayev University, while the application deadline for the fifth season of Tech Orda has already passed.
What AI jobs and salaries employers are offering in Kazakhstan in 2026
As of 31 October, job listings for Astana cover several areas of artificial intelligence. QazCloud is looking for a Junior data scientist — an entry-level data analysis specialist — for its AI and development department. ForteBank is offering a Middle ML-Engineer position — a mid-level machine learning engineer.
Kazakhtelecom has a vacancy for Team Lead Data Scientist CDS&A — the head of a team of data specialists. Salaries for these three positions are not disclosed in the listings. The range of 1.5–2 million tenge applies only to Top-Human’s offer.
When comparing offers, it helps to consider how much an AI specialist earns in Kazakhstan alongside experience requirements. One high salary does not represent the whole market.

What experience you need to work in AI
Even the Junior data scientist position at QazCloud requires one to three years of experience. ForteBank specifies the same range for its Middle ML-Engineer role. The Junior title in this vacancy does not mean applicants can start without experience.
The team lead position at Kazakhtelecom requires 3–6 years of experience. Top-Human’s vacancy specifies the same requirement. That role pays twice a month, and the advertised salary is before tax.
How much salaries could rise
IBA Group experts forecast that pay for specialists who implement, configure and support AI would rise by an average of 20% over two years. They estimated that some specialists could earn up to 2 million tenge a month. Kursiv published this forecast on 17 June 2026, citing Nur.kz (kz.kursiv.media).
A People Consulting study covered 24 companies, more than 7,300 salaries and 68 IT occupations. Employers supplied the data directly. At the presentation, further pay growth in AI was linked primarily to the most highly qualified experts with scarce skills (the-tech.kz).
These estimates should be considered alongside broader IT salary trends in Kazakhstan. A forecast reflects experts’ expectations, while a vacancy sets out the terms of a specific offer.
How much Tech Orda covers and who can take part
The fifth season of the Astana Hub programme is for participants aged 18–45. The voucher covers up to 500,000 tenge for in-person study. For online and hybrid formats, the limit is 400,000 tenge (gov.kz).
Fields include artificial intelligence, data analysis, cloud technologies, IT systems development and operations, and product management. The application deadline for Tech Orda 2026 was 7 September. As of 31 October, the application window has already closed.
Programme monitoring shows that 90% of economically active graduates are employed. Their average salary is 725,000 tenge. This figure combines graduates from different IT fields and does not separately reflect AI specialists’ earnings.
Where working professionals can study
Nazarbayev University offers a master’s programme in applied artificial intelligence and data science in Astana. The programme is taught in English and takes two years. Full-time and part-time study options are available, along with a hybrid format (scai.nu.edu.kz).
The programme covers Python, probability and statistics, databases, machine learning and the use of AI in business analytics. Of its 90 ECTS credits — units of study workload — 18 are allocated to the final applied project. The programme is designed for working professionals, and the date of the next intake has yet to be confirmed.
In plain terms
One vacancy requiring 3–6 years of experience offers up to 2 million tenge. When choosing a job, compare the requirements, salary before tax and payment terms. If you are planning to study, bear in mind that the Tech Orda application deadline has passed, and check the date of the university’s next intake.
