A separate report by Inbusiness.kz, whose correspondent compared delivery options for her own purchase, also confirms free delivery to Kazpost pickup points for eligible items, VAT and a 3% card payment fee.
Which items qualify for free shipping
Look for the blue Free shipping badge on the product listing. The general Free Shipping to Kazakhstan banner in the app does not mean every purchase qualifies.
The offer excludes items that are too large, long or heavy. Direct shipping also depends on the recipient’s address. Check the terms for the specific item at checkout.
How to choose a Kazpost pickup point
Select Kazakhstan in the region settings, then enter your address and postal code. If direct shipping is available for the item, the app may offer a Kazpost pickup point.
Previously, shoppers in Kazakhstan usually had their purchases sent to a warehouse in China. A cargo company, or freight carrier, would then deliver them to Kazakhstan for an additional fee. Now, for eligible items, shoppers can select a pickup point in Kazakhstan at checkout.
What you still pay with free shipping
According to Kursiv, VAT, or value-added tax, is automatically added to the item’s price in your cart. This means the price on the product listing may differ from the amount due, even when shipping is free.
Kursiv also reports a fee of around 3% for payments with an international card. Inbusiness.kz independently describes a 3% card payment fee in its comparison. When comparing delivery options, factor in both the tax and the payment fee.
When to compare shipping with a cargo company
The outcome depends on the item’s price and weight. For an inexpensive but heavy purchase, delivery through a freight carrier can account for a substantial share of the cost. First, check whether the platform allows direct shipping for that item.
Compare the final order total with Kazpost delivery against the full cost of buying through a cargo company, including any payment fees and delivery charges. Comparing product listing prices alone is not enough.

Kursiv reports that cargo company representatives have raised questions about parcel tracking, returns and the personal data requested from buyers. Check the terms of your chosen delivery method in advance.
