Beijing startup GenRobot AI has raised $100 million in a Series A+ funding round. Investors include automaker SAIC Motor, technology company Baidu and humanoid robot maker Galbot. The startup is building devices and a platform to collect data used to train robots (the-tech.kz).
What happened
Malaysia’s Eastworlds and Shoucheng Holdings also joined the round. Financial investors include GL Ventures, SUNHELM, CITIC Goldstone, CCB International and Huatai Zijin.
GenRobot AI develops infrastructure for collecting and processing data. Its devices capture how people carry out tasks at home, in manufacturing and in logistics.
How human movements become training data
The devices record video and track hand and body movements. The Matrix platform synchronizes the recordings, cleans the data and labels it. Developers then use this material to train and test robotics models.
One of the company’s devices is Gen DAS Dex, a lightweight hand exoskeleton. It tracks 23 degrees of freedom — parameters that describe how the hand moves. According to its stated specifications, the device captures virtually every hand movement.
How the device records touch
Gen DAS Dex has tactile sensors on its fingertips with a sensitivity of 0.05 N. They register even light touches. A camera with a 150-degree field of view supplements the recordings.
GenRobot AI was founded in May 2025. In August 2026, the company closed its previous Series A round, led by Momenta.
Founder and CEO Chen Jianxing previously worked as a senior director of algorithms at Momenta, and before that at Xpeng. The team also includes specialists from DJI, Huawei, DeepMind and Stanford University.
