Kazakh medical device manufacturer JULDYZ KENAN has signed memorandums of cooperation with Afghan companies. The agreements were reached on October 30 in Almaty at the first Kazakhstan–Afghanistan Medical Business Forum. They provide for further work on plans to supply the company’s products to Afghanistan (drive.google.com).
What happened
Talks began on October 29 with a factory visit by Afghan doctors, importers and pharmaceutical industry representatives. The production facility is in the Innovation Technology Park special economic zone in Almaty. Visitors were shown the equipment, laboratory and quality control processes.
The following day, the company discussed medical device supplies and the search for distributors — companies that will handle sales — with potential partners. The meetings resulted in memorandums of cooperation. These set out plans for further preparations to bring the products to the Afghan market.
On October 31, an Afghan government delegation led by Deputy Minister of Public Health Mawlawi Hamdullah Zahid visited the factory. According to the company, delegation members requested a product list with prices. These offers are needed to compare the products with those already sold in Afghanistan.

What this means
For JULDYZ KENAN, the agreements open up an opportunity to develop another export market. Before deliveries can begin, the parties need to identify products in demand and agree on commercial terms, logistics and product requirements. The stated next stage is to work on the product range and offers for potential buyers.
“We see business interest in purchasing and want to move on to detailed work on the product range, prices and delivery terms,” said Nur Ahmad Hanifi, chief technical specialist at Afghanistan’s Ministry of Public Health.
The talks also covered cooperation between manufacturers and the exchange of technological expertise. The possibility of manufacturing medical products in Afghanistan was discussed as a prospect for cooperation.
What technologies the factory demonstrated
According to JULDYZ KENAN, the factory makes its own medical tubing and carries out casting, moulding and product assembly. Visitors were shown extrusion — a process that makes tubing by passing material through a specially shaped die. The facility also has a laboratory and production control operations.
This expertise became a separate topic in talks on manufacturing cooperation. The next practical step is to exchange product lists and commercial offers, after which the partners can move on to discussing specific purchases.
